Matthias FRIEDRICH holds a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany. He joined Dassault Systèmes through the acquisition of FE-Design and their non-parametric optimization software Tosca, which has been integrated in various forms into Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
Simulation-based optimization has been a recurring theme throughout his professional career. After an award-winning thesis on the first industrial application of Tosca, he worked for more than 5 years on this topic as a CAE project manager at Freudenberg, a leading global supplier of sealing and vibration control products made of rubber.
In his subsequent role as Head of Engineering Services at FE-Design, he supported customers from various industrial sectors in hundreds of simulation-based optimization projects for more than 10 years and helped them roll out optimization strategies in their simulation processes.
After the acquisition of FE-Design by Dassault Systemes, he moved to the worldwide DS sales channel enablement for several years with a focus on optimization and later on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Since the beginning of 2023, he has additionally had a CPG-R industry focus and is working with our colleagues worldwide to bring the value of the MODSIM approach to customers in the consumer packaged goods industry, where simulation and optimization play a more and more important role due to the sustainability mandate.
