Cristian POBLETE is a Senior App Portfolio Manager and a Mining Engineer. With 15 years of experience, including 13 years at Dassault Systèmes, he is an expert in strategic planning for open-pit mines. Cristian has developed the "Robust Strategic Mine Planning" approach, which allows for articulating complex scenario analysis that incorporates uncertainty to improve decision-making. Currently, Cristian is leading the definition of the roadmap for new strategic mine planning solutions, ensuring that they meet the evolving needs of the industry.
Coming from a background in Mining Engineering, Cory has been providing Technical Support to GEOVIA Users for over a decade now. He has assisted through all of the standalone products and continues into the new age of Platform capabilities and cloud utility.
Glenn BARLOW is responsible for the GEOVIA Industry Process Expert team which is made up of mining professionals with expertise across Geoscience, Mining Engineering, Urban Planning, GIS, Strategic Planning and Programing. Having worked for GEOVIA for over 15 years Glenn has a deep understanding of mining technology allied with a solid practical experience in mining projects around the world. Glenn works with mining companies to understand and embrace digital transformation across the globe.
Farhad FARAMARZI is a Senior Mining Industry Consultant at GEOVIA Dassault Systèmes with over 10 year experience in Research, Consulting and Industry. Farhad holds BEng, MEng in Mining, and is specialised in Drill & Blast optimisation. He has worked in Drill & Blast specialist and superintendent positions - designed, led and surveyed over 100 full-scale production blasts at some large iron and copper open-pit mines. Farhad’s main area of expertise was built during his PhD in the Mineral Processing field at the Julius Kruttschnitt Mineral Research Centre (JKMRC) where he broadened his skillset and specialised in ore breakage characterisation, performance improvement, value-chain optimisation, modelling and simulation with several accomplished projects for Anglo American & BHP in this space.
Hamish is a chartered Professional and RPEQ Mining Engineer with over 10 years in underground coal, specializing in mine design, planning, and closure integration. With a postgraduate in mine ventilation, he’s passionate about delivering practical, sustainable solutions and empowering planners across the mining industry.
Professor of Mining Engineering at the University of Alberta and Director of the Mining Optimization Laboratory, Hooman Askari brings over 25 years of experience in mine planning, design, and simulation. As founder of OptiTek Mining Consulting, he advances optimization, data analytics, and software-based training to enhance mining efficiency and performance.
