Prof. Dheeraj Kumar is presently Dean (Innovation, incubation & Entrepreneurship) at IIT Dhanbad. He is also the Project Director of Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) in Mining as set up by Govt. of India. He did his M. Tech from IIT (ISM), Dhanbad, and Ph.D. from IIT Kharagpur. He has more than 18 years experience of in teaching & research at various organizations. His areas of expertise include Surveying, Geomatics, and IT Application in different earth science domains. Dr. Kumar has published more than 70 technical research papers in various international/national journals including proceedings of seminars/symposiums Dr. Kumar has authored several books and book chapters in the area of Advances in Mine Surveying and Application of IT in Mining. He has also completed more than 70 industrial consultancy projects and 6 R&D Projects sponsored by various mining & allied industries Dr. Kumar has conducted several Executive Development Programmes (EDP) and trained more than 600 mining executives on various mining and allied disciplines. He is a recipient of the National Merit Scholarship; Meritorious Scholar award at IIT Kharagpur in consecutive three years during 2000-2003, Hindustan Zinc Limited Award by the Institution of Engineers (INDIA), and State Bank of India (SBI) award 2nd Best Researcher of ISM for consecutive five years during 2012-17.
Prof. Rajiv Shekhar is presently Director, Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad. He is having more than 24 years of teaching and research experience at IIT Kanpur with focus on industrial applications.
Prof. Shekhar received his B.Tech degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 1982, MS and Ph.D. degrees in Metallurgical Engineering from University of California, Berkeley, in 1985 and 1988, respectively.
Prof. Shekhar joined as the faculty in Department of Materials Science & Engineering in 1990 at IIT Kanpur.
As head of the SIDBI Innovation and Incubation Centre of IIT Kanpur during 2003-06, Prof. Shekhar developed the governance system of the Centre from scratch. He also held the position of Head of the Department of Materials Science & Engineering during 2006-09.
Prof. Shekhar was instrumental in laying the foundation of IIT Jodhpur during 2012-13. As Chairman of the Project Management Group he helped develop the master plan of IIT Jodhpur, a comprehensive document of its own kind for a higher technical institution in India. He also setup the Centre for Solar Energy Technologies at IIT Jodhpur with a Rs. 40 crore research grant from MNRE and ensured extensive collaboration with industry.

Tanuj Mittal is the Director for the Customer Process Experience engagement channel in India. He was appointed to this role in January 2021. In his current role, he is responsible for the overall growth of this engagement channel in India. Dr. S. K. SARKAR is M. Tech (Gold Medallist) from NIT, Raipur. He has completed his Ph.D. from IIT, (ISM), Dhanbad on Manganese Mineralization of Central India. He has visited Gabon, Turkey, Singapore etc for feasibility study of various manganese deposit and paper presentation. He has over 16 years’ experience in the field of manganese ore deposit. Presently he is HOD and Asst. General Manger (Geo.) in MOIL Limited, Nagpur and looking after various work like exploration, Environment Clearance, Forest Clearance, acquisition of new area within outside the country, various business development activity of the company, lease related work etc.

Prof. Bhattacharjee has played important roles in Introduction of Risk based Safety Management Plan in Indian mining Industry through incorporation in the Coal Mines Regulation 2017, based on experience of working as an Inspector of Mines in Queensland Mines Inspectorate and witnessing the successful application of the concept in Australian mining industry, formulating initial guidelines for developing risk assessment based safety management plan (SMP), facilitating process of preparation of SMP in different mining organizations through customized training modules, imparted training to large number of DGMS Inspectors and Industry managers and Engineers. He is representing IIT(ISM) in several external committees including Expert Group for comprehensive study on the future coal scenario in India till 2050, constituted by Niti Aayog, technical committee constituted by the Union ministry of Coal under the chairmanship of Coal Secretary Anil Kumar Jain, to find the way forward for accelerating the ongoing Jharia rehabilitation project has initiated the review in progress of the Jharia master plan, and Program Advisory Committee (PAC) on “Materials, Mining & Minerals Engineering” of Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB) under Department of Science & Technology

Prof. Arvind Kumar Mishra is a Mining Engineer with B.Tech. from NIT Raipur, M. Tech. and PhD in Mining Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad. After graduation he joined Coal India Limited (CIL) as a Mining Engineer. He served CIL for three years and joined Department of Mining Engineering as faculty member in 1992. He continued with IIT(ISM) till May 2005 as Assistant Professor.
He joined Orica Mining Services, Australia as Technical Services Manager in 2005 and headed the Technical Services function till April 2009. He joined back IIT(ISM) Dhanbad in 2009 and continuing as Professor in Department of Mining Engineering, IIT(ISM) Dhanbad. He has widely travelled to Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Singapore, Hongkong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, China, Dubai, Tanzania and USA. He has to his credit 182 research publications in national and international journals and symposium. He is also actively involved in solving real life problems of mining industry by undertaking R&D and consultancy projects in mining and allied areas. So far, he has completed more than 85 such projects.
His area of interest is Drilling and Blasting Technology, Rock Excavation Engineering, Sustainability in Mining, and geo-mechanics. He has worked on special project of importing the technology in India for electronic detonators, underground bulk explosives, seismic explosives, cavern blast design, traffic tunnel design, road excavation in Himalayan territory etc.
He is fellow of Institution of Engineer’s (India), MGMI, ISRMTT, International Society of Explosives Engineers, USA and International Society of Rock Mechanics (ISRM). He received the prestigious National Geoscientist Award in 2016 by the Honorable President of India at Rastrapati Bhawan. He had also received the Mining Engineer of the year by Mining Engineering Association of India. He is Council member of MEAI and member of important committees formulating the policies. He has guided 11 PhD thesis and 47 M Tech thesis.
Rajiv has over two decades of experience across different industries in technical, sales and sales management roles. He started his career as an application Engineer, over period he was instrumental in facilitation and adoption of global best practices of CAD/CAM/PLM solutions at various OEM’s and Suppliers. Prior to joining Dassault Systèmes INDIA, Rajiv was with IBM responsible Major Accounts. Rajiv has a Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical Engineering from Madras University and masters in Design & Manufacturing from Ecole des Mines .
