Bryan HURLBUT is currently a SIMULIA IPS, Global High Tech Industry Process Expert in the Silicon Valley. He has been with Dassault Systemes for the last 7 years performing structural mechanics simulations for multiple industries. He was the Technical Account Manager for multiple High Tech accounts over the past 4 years. Prior to joining DS, Mr. Hurlbut was the owner of Rhombus Consultants Group, Inc. performing structural simulation services and methods development research for Aerospace, High Tech and Life Sciences industries. The beginning of his career was spent at the Lockheed Palo Alto Research Laboratory performing research into advanced structural methods and materials for FEA.
Dr. Fei (Alex) TAO got his Ph.D. from Purdue University, Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering, where his research focused on composite structures and materials. Dr. TAO is currently an Industry Process Consultant at Dassault Systèmes SIMULIA Corp supporting Abaqus and 3DEXPERIENCE Platform to high-tech, aerospace and defense customers. Dr. TAO has expertise in the mechanics of composites, multiscale mechanics, numerical analysis, and machine learning. He conducted extensive research on identifying constitutive laws of composites, discovering failure criteria of composites, physics-informed neural network (PINN) analysis of thin-walled structures, and surrogate modeling of the failure analysis of advanced structures. Dr. TAO has played pivotal roles as an editor for the Journal of Open Source Software (JOSS), session chair for ASME's SSDM Conference 2023, and technical committee for ASME's SSDM Conference 2024, 2025.
