Geetha AVULA started her career with Dassault Systemes in 2004 and has been with the company since then. She started as an Applications Engineer and is now the Senior Technical Manager. As a support engineer, she has provided technical training and support for SIMULIA products primarily Abaqus. She has interacted with many customers giving them guidelines on the issues they are facing, suggestions on their workflows, etc.
In her current role, she’s responsible for driving initiatives such as Electric Vehicles, Additive Manufacturing, Cloud solutions, to be able to guide companies on the technology Dassault Systems has to offer. Interacting with many Electric Vehicles companies in India and working with the global team she is supporting quite a few clients in the EV space.
She holds a Masters's Degree in Computational Mechanics of Materials and Structures from the University of Stuttgart, Germany.
Ranjit is Industry Process Consultant at SIMULIA India. Ranjit has been with SIMULIA India for 5 years and has a total of 10 years of work experience. In his previous experience, he owned the design and manufacture of critical subsea oil drilling equipment for major off-shore drilling providers with his designs still operational off the coasts of Norway & Sao Paulo. His areas of expertise are non-linear mechanics, design automation & computational programming. He holds a master's degree in computational mechanics from University at Buffalo, New York, and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from NIT Calicut. He is passionate about helping users build the best products possible in the shortest time by enhancing the capabilities of the SIMULIA portfolio using the latest automation and artificial intelligence tools.
Rijin holds a master's degree in Microwave and Radar Electronics from Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi, India and has industry experience of 8 years in electromagnetics with many publications and a patent. Working as Industry Process Consultant at Dassault Systemes, Rijin has an interest in high-frequency electromagnetic applications and EMC simulation and worked with customers across several industries.
Prior to the current role, he worked as Solution Consultant in Dassault Systemes and as an Application Engineer in Computer Simulation Technology. He has work experience of over two years in GE (General Electric) Global Research Centre, where he worked on various electromagnetic projects and holds a patent for wireless power transfer.
Antenna Array Design
An antenna array allows to achieve high gain with multiple radiating elements and a phased array, in addition, offers the possibility to shape and steer the beam without changing the array geometry. Traditionally, such arrays have been used in defense applications, particularly for radar, but this is changing as we see increased commercial use, especially with the advent of on-the-move access to high bandwidth data. The challenge lies in achieving these radiating characteristics while keeping the undesired effects such as the mutual coupling between the elements due to their proximity to each other at a minimum.
The design of these large arrays is typically achieved in two steps where first the element design is obtained by optimizing the Active Element Impedance and Active Element Pattern overall frequencies and scan angles and in the second step the array design is validated by inspecting the real scanning behavior and including the non-periodic structure effects.
This presentation highlights the fast and efficient workflows of array design functionality, which makes the design of phased arrays, at both the unit cell and full array level.
Amit is an Industry Process Consultant at SIMULIA India. He holds a Master’s degree in Thermal Engineering from IIT Madras and he has industry experience of 6 years in the field of CFD simulation of the under-hood domain and the HVAC domain. As an Industry Process Consultant at Dassault Systèmes, Amit works with automotive OEMs providing solutions related to aerodynamics. Prior to the current role, he worked as a fluid simulation expert with Caterpillar and Johnson Controls. He has a special interest in working on multi-phase and multi-species simulations.
Siva Sai Krishna PURANAM is an Industry Process Consultant with Dassault Systems. He holds a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering with focus on Antenna Design from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, Minneapolis – USA. Prior to his PhD work, he worked as an Electrical Engineer with Seagate Technology in the analysis and validation of the electronic circuits used in Hard Disk Drives. His areas of interests are in the domains of Antenna Array Design - simulation and fabrication and in Electromagnetics.
Pankaj NERIKAR holds a PhD in Computational Materials Science from the University of Florida. He has extensive experience in the application of simulation methods to model and simulate scientific and engineering problems. He has more than 10 years of Industry experience with 5 years in R&D. He specializes in multiscale & multiphysics simulations involved in nuclear materials, semiconductors and chemical engineering.
Prior to joining Dassault Systèmes, he worked as Strategic Account Manager in COMSOL Multiphysics. He currently works as a SIMULIA Sales Expert and is responsible to promote SIMULIA solutions to identified accounts in the Aerspace&Defense and Energy&Materials verticals of Dassault Systèmes.
