Her background is in Processing, she has had a broad career journey spanning multiple commodities and continents, in a diverse array of roles, but always with the focus on improvement and sustainability. She moved to Canada from South Africa in Dec 2020 with two small kids, to implement Integrated Planning in AMMC, and is proud to lead the team that has successfully done this and is changing the way they work. She is passionate about transforming mining through technology, and excited about what this transformed future might look like.
As a solution architect at Dassault Systems, Sean Larson has a passion for manufacturing and pursuing functional applications of optimization. He started his career as an industrial engineer, where he made progress commercializing PhD research, which aimed to solve localized scheduling and global planning using meta optimization. After the successful delivery of a PoC, he joined the workforce as an independent contractor and teamed up with seasoned industry executives to shape a supplier development program focused on improving supplier quality and performance. Concurrently, Sean and the team developed and executed a pilot program, supported by State funds, that assisted local manufacturing companies. Afterwards, he joined Dassault Systems, where he has led the delivery of solutions in mining, agriculture, and other industries, using his expertise in scheduling and optimization. He values practical technology that solves real-world problems and, when appropriate, functional optimization that enhances efficiency and effectiveness. Sean believes that chasing a fast time-to-value, supported by agile practices, is the key to identifying the most valuable requirements and delivering the best solutions to customers.
Manon is an expert in the integrated planning team for a mining company in Canada. She has a Metallurgical background, but has broad experience in Mine to Port, having done roles from operations supervisor in the Concentrator, laboratory supervisor, metallurgist, area manager of the Concentrator, Crusher and Concentrator manager and Pellet plant manager, to now leading the Integrated planning team as an expert. Motivated by the challenge of implementing a new and better way of planning, and determined to breakdown silos , she immersed herself in the project to build a planning solution that would cover the entire value chain. Her experience and knowledge of the operation, planning, constraints and interactions in the business, acquired over the last 25 years, were enablers to successfully implement the Quintiq tool from Mine to Port.
