Abhijit CHATTOPADHYAY holds a PhD (Physical and Analytical Chemistry) from Burdwan University, India, in 1992.
After post-doctoral studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara and CNRS Montpelier, he joined the National Chemical Laboratory in Pune, India. He then came to Japan in 1995 as a visiting associate professor at Tohoku University. He served as a senior researcher at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) until 2004, when he joined Dassault Systèmes as a senior manager of the Asia Pacific technical team.
He has published 125 research papers in peer-reviewed journals and authored several chapters in books. He has participated in government projects and as a project leader in various material design projects with private companies. He has developed new functional materials using enterprise platforms based on scientific knowledge, multi-scale modeling, and data science.
