KEYNOTE: How to hack a brain?
  • April 26 2023 - 11:55 am - 12:45 pm

This plenary session will start with a five minute welcome address from our moderator for the day.

Followed by Koen Thewissen, a behaviour strategist on how we can use principles of cognitive, behavioural and evolutionary psychology to make sustainable change happen.

We have all the scientific knowledge we need to change our world. Now it is time to put that knowledge into action. Unfortunately, social sciences are often left out of the conversation. If we do not include them, nothing will really change.

Koen will try to answer 4 questions below:

  • Why do smart humans sometimes act irrational?
  • Why is our brain wired to resist change?
  • How can psychological insights help us to overcome this resistance?
  • What are the techniques we can use to move people towards a more sustainable future?
