Glenn BARLOW is responsible for the GEOVIA Industry Process Expert team which is made up of mining professionals with expertise across Geoscience, Mining Engineering, Urban Planning, GIS, Strategic Planning and Programing. Having worked for GEOVIA for over 15 years Glenn has a deep understanding of mining technology allied with a solid practical experience in mining projects around the world. Glenn works with mining companies to understand and embrace digital transformation across the globe.
José is experienced in Geostatistics, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence & Data Analytics techniques applied to innovation in Mining, with an emphasis on technological innovation as a tool to drive positive change.
Michael has a 30 years’ experience in the mining industry across a wide range of commodities and geographies leading to a broad understanding of multiple mining disciplines and associated technical systems. This experience includes the public reporting of Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves (R&R) in multiple jurisdictions in accordance with various listing rules and reporting codes (LSE/PERC, JSE/SAMREC, NYSE/S-K1300 & ASX/JORC), the associated ‘Resource Governance and Assurance’ processes and development of multiple R&R reporting systems. Additional experience includes participation in numerous multi-disciplinary project reviews focusing on Mineral Resources, R&R process and database reviews/audits as well as financial risk modelling leveraging geological modelling and Mineral Resource evaluation skills. Michael is the Portfolio Manager for Surpac.
Tony is a Geologist and is responsible for the development of GEOVIA Surpac and GEMS from a R&D perspective. He has extensive experience in the West Australian gold mining industry and joined GEOVIA in 1995 in a technical support role. Since then, he has worked extensively in QA/QC software testing and software development.
Ash started in the mining industry as a Surveyor back in 1998 working in various Open Pit and Underground mines in Western Australia. After a short stint away from mining he started working for GEOVIA in 2008. Since then he has helped many clients achieve their goals through training and consulting in Surpac, MineSched and Macros. He now works in a support role for GEOVIA, allowing him to dedicate 100% of his time assisting clients with any questions they may have.
Isaac is a Senior Mining Consultant at SRK Consulting (Canada) Inc. with nearly 20 years of global experience in open-pit and underground mining. He specializes in mine design, block model optimization, and cost-effective solutions using tools like Surpac, Whittle, Minesched, and Deswik. Isaac has led PEA, PFS, and FS studies, improving operational efficiency and NPV. Formerly a planning leader at Asanko Gold and Mensin Gold, he holds degrees in Mining Engineering and Project Management. A CIM member, he will share insights on block modeling at the GEOVIA Connect X25 webinar.
Luthfi began his career in the coal mining industry in 2020 as an Exploration Geologist on a contract basis with PT Bukit Asam Tbk. In 2021, he joined Weda Bay Nickel as a Geologist, where he was involved in various field and exploration programs. He continued to grow within the company, transitioning into a Resources and Modelling Geologist role from 2022 to 2024, where he contributed to resource estimation and geological modelling. In 2024, he became a Resources Geologist Specialist with the Harita Nickel Group (PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk), where he continues to apply his expertise in geology modelling and resource development with various software to support ongoing projects.
Edem is an industry seasoned geologist with a Master’s level education and close to 20 years of experience, varying from Exploration, databases, hydrogeology, production geology to resource modelling. He's familiar with both open pit and underground geology. Been doing geological modelling and Estimation for nearly 12 years across different companies in Ghana. He believes continuous improvement is key to resource modelling. His favorite mantra is “All’s well that ends well”
Ralph Smith has worked in the mining metals industry for over 25 years commencing his career working in underground operations on the West Coast of Tasmania. This was a time of significant change to mining with the application of computers in daily operations for design and modelling. During the 2000’s he shifted gear and worked to develop new projects, both greenfields and brownfield through consulting services. Working throughout South East Asia to develop a number of project studies; Chatree Thailand; Seppon, Phu Kham, Ban Houayxai Laos; Awak Mas, Wetar, Tujuh Bukit Indonesia; Ban Phuc Vietnam; Philiex Carmen Copper, Tampakan and Didipio Philippines.
During the late 2000’s he recognized the industry was looking to change and seized an opportunity to join Dassault Systèmes, an organization with established credentials in transforming other industries.
