Abstract:
Sustainability Demands Virtualization– and It Should Happen Fast.
There is a mindset shift needed in the world of product manufacturing companies. They might gradually switch to more digital technologies to remain competitive. However, switching to a data-driven, model-based approach creates resistance due to legacy data, processes, and people. Recent climate disasters have changed the focus on sustainability. Companies are now adding sustainability to their business objectives, often not realizing addressing sustainability demands new business models and, first of all, digitization of the product lifecycle, the usage of virtual twins. As the planet gives us an 8 – 15 year window to address various sustainability issues, we must act fast. Jos will guide you through possible paths and technology principles to reach these objectives.

Virtual Twin for Quality Management
Complex assets come with a large volume of documents, files, and records needed for critical issue resolution. But when they’re scattered across different systems and teams, costs and time spent relaying critical information add up. When unforeseen maintenance forces asset downtime, the cost grows exponentially. Not only is it a steep repair cost, but revenue is lost from the asset being out of commission for long periods.
