Mintae KIM has over 20 years of experience developing advanced solver technologies for structural analysis and high-performance computing. He has led the development of several key eigensolver technologies in Abaqus, including distributed memory parallel (DMP) block Lanczos and subspace iteration solvers, which significantly improved performance for large-scale frequency extraction and buckling analyses.

Throughout his career, he has been instrumental in enhancing the performance and scalability of Abaqus solvers on modern HPC architectures, developing a state-of-the-art AMS eigensolver including GPU-acceleration functionality, hybrid (DMP & SMP) iterative solvers such as AMG and MCP, and supporting complex customer applications—particularly in the automotive NVH domain. His work includes a patented innovation in the AMS-based substructure generation.

With a deep understanding of both solver technology and real-world application needs, he continues to drive innovation that bridges advanced numerical methods with industrial-scale simulation challenges.
