Daniel M. PACKWOOD is an Associate Professor at the Institute for Integrated Cell-Material Sciences (iCeMS), Kyoto University. He completed his doctoral program in Chemistry at the Graduate School of Science, University of Canterbury, in 2010.
Following his doctorate, he joined Kyoto University as a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow for Foreign Researchers in the Department of Chemistry from 2010 to 2012. He subsequently served as an Assistant Professor in the Mathematics Collaboration Group at the Advanced Institute for Materials Research (WPI-AIMR), Tohoku University, from 2012 to 2016.
In 2016, Dr. Packwood joined iCeMS, Kyoto University, as a Lecturer, a position he held until 2023, when he was appointed Associate Professor. His academic career has also included concurrent research appointments with JST PRESTO from 2014 to 2018 and, since 2024, as a JST Emergent Researcher.
