Understanding the distinguishing characteristics of a wide range of continuum and structural elements for stress analyses was extremely important in simulation. Choosing the appropriate element type in Abaqus for specific applications—considering factors like material behavior, type of contact, and level of bending—was critical. The choice of element type helped build a higher fidelity model and facilitated accurate results in Abaqus that were comparable to the real-world behavior of an assembly.
