This presentation explores how connecting digital twins with SysML models can enhance system analysis and validation. Digital twins, often developed in siloes for specific use cases, can lack integration, limiting their effectiveness. The session demonstrates how three digital twins—a SysML model for requirements validation, a multi-physics model for structural integrity, and a kinematic model for 3D motion—can be interconnected using standardized Functional Mock-Up Units (FMUs). By enabling co-simulations, this approach ensures that system motion does not cause unexpected structural deviations and detects potential clashes from deflections. This methodology creates more robust, comprehensive digital twins, breaking down siloes and improving real-world system validation. Attendees will learn how to implement this approach to achieve more accurate and integrated system models.
