Join the episode and learn how assess e-NVH risk in early phase, how to mitigate noise and vibration with parameter sweep and optimization and more.
Acoustic noise and vibrations due to electromagnetic forces induced by electric machine operation can be significant in many applications such as transportation & mobility, industrial equipment, aerospace & defense, marine & offshore etc. Tackling noise issues after manufacturing can be particularly expensive and may degrade electric drive performances such as efficiency, cooling, and weight. Therefore, an efficient virtual prototyping workflow of magnetic noise and vibration is key to accelerate development times, reduce prototyping manufacturing & testing costs, and improve engineering productivity.
Manatee software is a CAE collaborative tool designed to support all engineers involved in the development of electrified systems to assess and control magnetic noise and vibration levels.
It comes with Root Cause Analysis Tools such as Magnetic Force Signature Analysis (MFSA) feature which allows to predict the frequency signature (frequencies, wavenumbers) of magnetic forces, and identify the main risk of resonance without running FEA calculations. Early-stage qualitative magnetic noise and vibration risk analysis can then be performed to quickly compare different slot/pole combinations or different topologies (e.g. induction machine Vs synchronous machines).
