This Tech Talk will show some very interesting examples of Abaqus models of commonplace structures and talk about what we can learn from them.
The Abaqus solver codes, Abaqus/Standard and Abaqus/Explicit, have many capabilities for realistic simulation. One of the best ways of learning is by doing. So, you can learn about these capabilities by building test models. Why not play around with Abaqus and learn what is has to offer by building test models of the interesting phenomenon we see everyday? This tech talk will show some very interesting examples of Abaqus models of commonplace structures and talk about what we can learn from them. Playing with Abaqus will have some serious side effects. When you play with Abaqus, you will learn all about its advanced material models, its options for enforcing and constraining motion, its contact capabilities, etc. You will also learn or improve you modeling and problem-solving skills. Not only will you learn all of these things, the methods you develop may be applicable to the serious simulations you are working on now or problems that you will encounter is the future.
