This talk is to show application of COSMOTHERM in chemical engineering vapor-liquid (VLE) and liquid-liquid (LLE) equilibria, key for designing and optimizing separation process in chemical engineering.
In this part of the webinar, we will explore how BIOVIA COSMOtherm can address key challenges in chemical engineering. We begin with an overview of phase equilibria, focusing on vapor-liquid (VLE) and liquid-liquid (LLE) equilibria, which are essential for designing and optimizing separation processes. We will demonstrate how BIOVIA COSMOtherm can reliably predict phase behavior across a wide range of systems, thereby reducing the need for extensive experimental measurements.
Next, we will examine how solvent effects influence chemical reaction equilibria and rates. COSMOtherm provides a thermodynamic framework that quantifies these effects and supports solvent selection to improve process performance.
The seminar will also introduce approaches for modeling polymers within BIOVIA COSMOtherm and address the challenges associated with large, flexible molecules and their interactions in mixtures. Additionally, we will discuss the treatment of ionic liquids, an important class of designer solvents with unique properties.
Real-world examples and selected case studies will illustrate practical applications throughout the session. We will demonstrate how to export simulation results and integrate them into process simulators to enable the seamless use of BIOVIA COSMOtherm data in broader engineering workflows.
