Learn more about how the 3DEXPERIENCE platform enables optimal battery performance, providing insight into the complex interplay of multiple physical phenomena occurring within battery cells.
The pursuit of high-performance batteries in electric vehicles (EVs) has increased the demand for more efficient, safer and reliable energy storage solutions. This webinar will demonstrate how the 3DEXPERIENCE® platform enables optimal battery performance and provides insight into the complex interplay of multiple physical phenomena within battery cells.
In this presentation, we will demonstrate how to create a detailed parametric 3D jellyroll geometry with realistic offsets and transitions using the Layered Product Design (LAY) application. The jellyroll is tightly associated with the FE mesh and is used for conducting design studies on electrochemical and mechanical behavior. By utilizing a fully coupled multi-scale multi-physics model, we can evaluate the variation in concentration, potential and temperature on the platform. We will also explore how cell designers can gain insights into crucial safety aspects by conducting highly complex and nonlinear simulations such as crash and internal short circuit, which can result in thermal runaway. These multi-physics simulations, facilitated by the unified computational framework MODSIM, will significantly accelerate the battery cell development process.
