Bernard Charlès has been Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dassault Systèmes, since January 2024. He served as the Company’s Chief Executive Officer from 1995 to 2022, and was Chairman & CEO in 2023.
Charlès started his career in the company in 1983 to develop new design technologies. In 1986, he founded a dedicated New Technologies, Research and Strategy department, and in 1988 was appointed President of Strategy, Research and Development.
He has helped instill a culture of ongoing innovation to further consolidate Dassault Systèmes’ scientific capabilities and make science part of the company’s DNA. Bernard Charlès is co-author with philosopher Pierre Musso of The Industry Renaissance, which discusses the power of virtual universes to sustainably transform industry.
He is a foreign member of the US National Academy of engineering and a member of the French Academy of Technology. He holds the rank of Commander in the “Légion d’honneur” (French Legion of Honor). He is a graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure engineering school in Cachan and has a PhD in mechanical engineering majoring in automation engineering and information science. He also holds an agrégation — the most senior teaching qualification achievable in France (specializing in mechanical engineering).
Florence VERZELEN is Dassault Systèmes’ Executive Vice President in charge of Industry, Marketing & Sustainability since 2018. Her role is to grow the portfolio of solutions and significantly increase the revenues of Dassault Systèmes in the 12 industries it serves, in order to achieve sustainable growth and rapid business development. To this end, she focus on creating “forward looking” industrial solutions that will help all industrial players to transform through digitalization. Florence has also created the sustainability function within Dassault Systèmes, with the vision that digital solutions can help transform the industries to help them become more sustainable. She is also leading Dassault Systèmes’ service organization, transforming its business model towards “outcome based” solutions.
Before this latest appointment, Florence was working at Engie, a world leader in the energy sector – holding different positions, as Business Development Vice President, Engie Qatar CEO, Performance Plan Vice President and finally Engie Europe COO.
Florence has an extensive experience in both public and private sector, having held different positions in the European Commission and the French Administration.
She is also an experienced board member, with board position at PSA and currently at Air France; CNES, the French Space Agency and Institut Montaigne, the leading think tank in France. Florence is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique / Corps des Mines.
Samson KHAOU is Executive Vice President, Asia Pacific, Dassault Systèmes. He is responsible for the overall growth and performance of Dassault Systèmes in Asia Pacific, overseeing the development of business strategy in line with market opportunities and the company's mission to partner in the digital transformation and growth agenda of key countries and segments in the region.
Prior to this role, he was Managing Director for India for three years (2016-2019), Managing Director for Asia Pacific South region for six years (2011-16), for Industry Services in Europe for three years (2008-10) and for Korea for two years (2006-2007). He joined Dassault Systèmes in 1989 as a R&D engineer and has been holding several key management positions within the company in both Europe and Asia.
Mr. KHAOU holds Master Degrees in both Mechanical Engineering and Production Engineering.
Erik Swedberg is Dassault Systèmes, Executive Vice President and GEO Managing Director for the Americas. Erik’s role is to achieve the company’s revenue goals in the geography by moving the organization to a customer-first model and positioning the 3DEXPERIENCE platform at the center of our relationships with customers, users, partners, and influencers. Prior to his current role, Erik was Dassault Systèmes Global Account Director for Boeing where he led some of our largest services programs and secured the company’s largest software contract. Most recently, he initiated the Boeing supply chain program working in a client-centric model.
During his 19 years with Dassault Systèmes, Erik acquired wide-ranging experience in a number of industries in addition to Aerospace and Defense, including High Tech, Automotive, Industrial Equipment, Retail, and Life Sciences. Erik builds strong trusted partner relationships and brings a full kit of capability having worked in technical sales, services, business consulting, and sales.
Josephine ONG heads the Dassault Systèmes business in the Asia Pacific South region, covering Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia.
Her key mandate is driving sustainable value creation for our customers, achieved through identification of high potential market segments and addressing their critical business processes with technology that provides tangible and meaningful KPIs.
CHOW Sai Keet consults on digitalizing business operations for his clients in their business transformation journey, specifically in process and services industries including clients from metals, aviation, logistics, consumer goods and process-based manufacturing. With hands-on experience on project implementation and consulting for DELMIA solution for more than a decade, Sai Keet works with clients and partners across ASEAN, China and Japan.
LIANG Ying Shun, Dassault Systèmes’ DELMIA Industry Process Consultant for Asia Pacific South, is an established technical professional with over 10 years of cumulative experience in process, innovation and improvement-oriented functions. He has applied Lean and Six Sigma (Green Belt Certified) methodologies for process improvement and operational excellence initiatives and projects in various industries, such as manufacturing, engineering and healthcare.
At Dassault Systèmes, LIANG provides consultation and advice to manufacturing companies in Asia Pacific South on their operational excellence journey, by championing Digital (Industry 4.0) tools to enhance their Lean, Six Sigma and business process re-engineering (BPR) capabilities through customized solutions such as Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) and Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM/MES). He also works with and trains value-added resellers (VARs) in the region to explain, demonstrate and implement the Dassault Systèmes’ manufacturing solutions to customers and prospects.
LIANG holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Nanyang Technological University and has a Six Sigma Green Belt Professional Certification.
Stephanie KRISHNAN is Research Director for IDC Manufacturing Insights, responsible for Industry 4.0 research. She is responsible for the production, development and growth of the IDC Manufacturing Insights program in the Asia Pacific region. In this role, Stephanie is delivering a research agenda that will appeal to technology buyers and vendors both in terms of subscription products and custom research in Industry 4-0 looking across ecosystems, value chains and supply chains of industrial industries.
Klaus KROHNE received his Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the Darmstadt University of Technology, Germany in 2002 and his Doctor of Sciences from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, Switzerland in 2007. From 2007 to 2009 he was a Researcher with the A*Star Institute of High-Performance Computing in Singapore. His research interest is in the area of electromagnetic simulation and component optimization techniques. In 2009 he joined CST (Computer Simulation Technology) South East Asia Pte Ltd in Singapore, which was acquired by DASSAULT SYSTEMES in 2016. Today Klaus is responsible for the SIMULIA sales and technical sales in the Asia Pacific.
Bernard PAQUES is AWS Solution Architect (Industrial). He has been engaged at AWS for Industrial with international enterprise customers for years. As an AWS employee, and previously, Bernard gained experience horizontally on product design and engineering, smart products, and connected factories, and vertically, on aerospace and car-making industries. Bernard is currently investing in digital twins as the preferred vector of innovation.
Ba-Thong PHAN, has more than 35 years’ experience helping customers deploying and implementing solutions for mechanical engineering from design to data management and manufacturing, starting with on premise solutions and most recently public cloud solutions.
Ba-Thong PHAN is based in Dassault Systèmes Singapore office. Ba-Thong joined SolidWorks Corporation in January 2000 as Territory Technical Manager for APAC. Ba-Thong led the technical sales team of SolidWorks until moving to new role of Partner Development in 2019. Ba-Thong dedicates his time to enable partners and promote 3DEXPERIENCE Cloud solutions since 2020.
He worked in the CAD industries since 1985. Prior to joining SolidWorks Corporation, Ba-Thong spent 10 years with Matra Datavision. He was Technical Manager for China Operations and located in Beijing. He moved successfully from software development engineer to Technical Support and Pre-sales engineer within Matra Datavision, both in France and USA.
Ba-Thong has worked also with Renault Automobiles (France) developing specific 3D CAD applications for Car body design but also complex 3 to 5 axis machining algorithm for surface machining.
Ba-Thong was graduated from Institut des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon (INSA), an engineering college in France, with a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Concurrently, Ba-Thong hold a Master’s degree in Mechanical Analysis (CAD/CAE) from Université Claude Bernard in Lyon France.
Louis is currently serving as DELMIAWORKS Senior Industry Marketing Manager. Previous positions include Director Product Management at Ingram Cloud, Vice President Marketing at iBASEt, Plex Systems, Senior Analyst at AMR Research (now Gartner), marketing and business development at SaaS start-ups. Mr. Columbus’ academic background includes an MBA from Pepperdine University and the Strategic Marketing Management and Digital Marketing Programs at Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Louis also teaches MBA courses in international business, global competitive strategies, international market research, strategic planning and market research.
Mr. COLUMBUS currently is a member of the faculty at Webster University and has taught California State University, Fullerton: University of California, Irvine & Marymount University.

Hock Chuan has more than 15 years of experience championing Data & Model Centric solutions in the Asia Pacific South region. He is the Industry Process Consultant Senior Manager for Asia Pacific South, responsible for the 3DEXPERIENCE Works portfolio and helping companies to achieve sustainable innovation.
Prior to Dassault Systèmes, he worked in the HPC (High Performance Computing) industry, where he led in the setup of SaaS models for local SMEs to enhance their competitiveness by tapping on national HPC simulation resources.
He has also worked in the Oil & Gas industry where he digitalized equipment servicing processes to reduce cycle time and improve Quality and HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) KPIs of Oil & Gas plants.
Ken Chew TAN is a Director of Business Consulting at Dassault Systèmes for both Home & Lifestyle as well as Consumer Packaged Goods & Retail Industries. He has over 25 years of experience in the fashion-related and retail-related technology industry mainly in the domains of 3D Design, 3D Product Development & Simulation, Production, Digital Marketing & Retail.
Ken is part of Dassault Systèmes’ worldwide Industry Team with a mission to bring the innovative 3DEXPERIENCE platform to companies to help them with their strategic digital transformation initiatives, from R&D to Manufacturing to Retail. He is also a strong advocate of Consumer Experiences with Consumer in the epicenter of value creation process.

Dominique heads the heavy machinery equipment segment in the industrial equipment industry (Industrial machinery, construction & heavy mobile machine, fabricated metal products as well as tire manufacturers segments). He is responsible for design, manufacturing, supply chain and operations management solutions for Dassault Systèmes and is leading the heavy machinery and farm equipment segment defining the industry solution experience covering the industrial needs in this domain and working very closely with strategic customers in a worldwide capacity.
He has supported key digital transformation projects in this domain and has built industry best practices across the world.
Dominique starts its carrier in 1989 as a software developer and application engineer for a small company developing an automatic software for 2 to 5-axis CNC machine programming.
In 2001, Dominique joined Dassault Systèmes as a member of the Industrial Equipment manufacturing industry in charge of the automotive powertrain manufacturing process solutions and has worked across several industry segments and carries more than 2 decades of rich industry experience. His specialities include Design, Manufacturing and After-sales in Industrial Machinery, Digital Manufacturing, Manufacturing Operations Management, Assembly and part manufacturing process planning, NC Manufacturing, Resource programming, Supply Chain Planning.

Cameron COLLIE is a strategist and technology consultant with over 30 years of IT experience in both Australia and Europe. He is a veteran of the Australian rail industry, with over 20 years of experience and has worked on a wide range of technology services from strategy formulation, strategic sourcing to systems development.
Cameron contributes to forums on industry and enterprise-level architectures and has developed a capability-based rail industry reference framework. As program lead, Cameron plays a prominent role in all major pre-sales and project delivery initiatives globally.
Cameron is also a prominent member of the DELMIA Quintiq Global Rail Industry Steering Committee, responsible for both strategy development and product development through his “voice of the customer” role.
Adrien currently leads globally the development, deployment and enablement of simulation solutions for virtual twins for the Industrial Equipment industry (Manufacturing Equipment, Heavy Machinery, Power & Fluidic Equipment, Building Equipment, Tire Manufacturing). In the context of the pandemic, Adrien leads the Create Safe Life Environment through Simulation initiative at Dassault Systèmes where SIMULIA Fluid Solutions are used to model the transport of droplets by airflow from ventilation systems in various environments such as hospitals, aircraft, offices, factories, trains, etc.
Adrien joined in 2011 Exa Corporation's aero-acoustics application management team (acquired by Dassault Systèmes in 2018) where he developed patented technologies enabling the identification of flow noise sources in HVAC systems. He led for 2 years the Cabin Comfort expert group for the Transportation & Mobility industry. He holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University (2011) and a Diplome de l’Ecole Polytechnique in Paris (2009).
Liangbo directly supports Dassault Systèmes’ customers in China on fluids-related projects based on the PowerFLOW and XFlow fluid solvers. Liangbo is an expert in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations across physics domains such as aerodynamics, thermal or aeroacoustics. Prior to joining Dassault Systèmes’ SIMULIA, his experience included working at UTRC and Trane where he gained comprehensive skills in turbomachinery design (Fan/Compressor). Liangbo obtained his Master degree from East China University of Science and Technology in 2015.
Nicolas JEANNÉE (PhD, MBA) has 20 years experience in leading software companies across various executive functions including training & consulting departments, technology partnerships, sales & marketing. Nicolas joined Dassault Systèmes in 2016 as Solutions Director for Natural Resources. He then moved to the 3DEXPERIENCE Edu organization to develop new partnerships in order to build-up the learning portfolio for Professional development. As Senior Sales Director for Education, Nicolas is now in charge of positioning the 3DEXPERIENCE platform as a game changer for academic institutions, fundamental research institutes and continuing education.
Benjamin DAVID is the CEO and Co-founder of XSun, a solar aircraft company, based in France, working to become one of the leading companies in the solar drone industry.
In his presentation, Benjamin will share XSun’s journey from inspiration to SolarXOne’s first flight, the world’s first solar powered autonomous drone. For its first long solar-powered flight, XSun recorded an impressive 12-hour carbon-free and 100% autonomous flight covering 600km. Inspired by a mission for a more carbon free world, he will also discuss how XSun is creating a more sustainable future.
XSun is part of Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE Lab, which focuses on accelerating projects aligned to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
