DELMIA Quintiq World Tour Australia 2019 > Ben DOBSON > Dassault Systèmes® DELMIA Quintiq World Tour Australia 2019 > Ben DOBSON > Dassault Systèmes®

Ben is one of Australia’s leading meat planning professionals. He and his national team ensure more than a million kilos of perishable meat products move smoothly through from paddock to the shelves of the country’s largest supermarket chain and into consumer homes each day. Maintaining supply chain balance for such a large scale - wide spread network is extraordinarily complex. Not only do the raw materials vary in size and grade, each meat species has unique handling and behavioral constraints which need to be taken into account, to ensure products of the correct quantity and quality arrive in-store with the maximum shelf life possible.

His diverse experience spans early days as a butcher, professional rugby player, IT specialist and ultimately meat planning manager at one of the U.K.’s largest supermarkets – Morrisons. He was recruited into Woolworths in 2015 to set up the new national planning team to further enhance Woolworths Fresh food offering. As part of this initiative Ben undertook a technology review and selected Delmia Quintiq as optimisation and supply chain planning tool for managing this new central planning process.

Ben now calls Manly home with his partner. In his spare time he enjoys the diverse offerings of Sydney and Manly's beach culture, bbq’s, motor sports, scuba diving and rugby union.
